On a non-rotating planet, there would be a single air flow rising from the heated equator, travelling to the poles, descending and flowing along the surface to the equator again. Consequently, there will be a low-pressure system permanently over the equator, and a high-pressure system over the poles, and it will be sunny over the poles and cloudy over the equator.
