Rugby (Tak: La Laƿ, lit. 'egg ball') is one of the most popular sports in Tak. It is regulated by the Tak Rugby Union (nTaah naLa Laƿ Hə (TLLH)), which was founded in 194 AP. Originally the Tak Rugby rules were slightly different from those in other countries, but when the TLLH joined the Vexillium Rugby Board in 266, the international rules were adopted. The original Tak rules are however still observed in the Tak university rugby competitions.

National teamEdit

The national Tak rugby team is known as the nTaah ƿɛRəəs ('Tak Wolves'). (To be elaborated)

Tak domestic rugby competition takes place at six levels:

  1. Vɵr Mld ‘Blue Cup’
  2. Vi Mld ‘Red Cup’
  3. Ŋup Hə o Slt ‘First National League’
  4. Kag Hə o Slt ‘Second National League’
    1. Kag Hə o Slt (mPees) ‘Second National League (West)’

TriviaEdit

The Ingallish word rugby resembles the Tak words rɵg bi, which means 'weird frog'. This coincidence has lead to several lower ranking teams having references to either 'weird' or 'frog' in their team names.
