The Free Republic of the Western Shore (Lake Kencari: Bburie ppe Distriddokappiost Gezu ppe Scued ha; North Pocari: Ripablic Pre Scot Ħdă sa) is country on the western shore of Pearyt Lake located between the Free States of Tak and the Lectern of United Kencari Peoples (LUKP); it unilaterally seceded from the latter on 9 November 316 and has been recognised by a handful of other countries including Tak, the Coare Republic, and Gen.

GeographyEdit

HistoryEdit

Headed by former prime minister Đona Cottur's party Common Endeavours, the Western Shore unilaterally declared itself independent from the Lectern of United Kencari Peoples (LUKP) in November 316. The Western Shore wasn't one of the new nations that were the result of the dissolution of Bowdani one month earlier, but the chaos that followed in the LUKP shortly after the dissolution was used as an excuse to create an independent republic. The LUKP was not capable to act against this move, and the new government of the LUKP implicitly recognised the status quo a few months later.

Parliamentary elections were held in January 317, which resulted in a surprise defeat for Common Endeavours. Shortly before the elections, LPWS leader Kenneth Irving, who would become the country's prime minister afterwards, seriously doubted the necessity of the independence of the Western Shore, although his government has made no moves to propose a reintegration in the LUKP.

The Western Shore was recognised by other former Bowdani nations and it joined the United Nations of Vexillium as well as the Smalik Union for Economic Cooperation and Security (SUECS) in early 317.

DemographicsEdit

The country's largest settlements are Bbicobes/Twibrook (224,737 inhabitants), Taskä/Taskey (206,185), Zobi Ppiesta Gue/Highland (31,289), Tăccit/Tackit (22,700), and Carvŏ/Carvo (14,156).

The inhabitants of the Western Shore are mixed, with Ingallish, Kencari, Pocari, and Tak being the largest ethnic groups. Lake-Kencari, North-Pocari, and Ingallish are recognised as official languages, and Tak as a regional language.

Most Westernshorians (85%) belong to the Orthodox Church of Bowdani, 12% to the Tak earth religion, and 2% to the Papaist Church.

PoliticsEdit

The Western Shore has a unicameral parliament of 77 members. Elections occur at least once every four years. The party or parties that represent a majority in the parliament will form a government, headed by a prime minister, who is also the head of state of the Western Shore.

The last elections took place on 21 January 317. The LPWS came out victorious and formed a grand coalition government with the NP.
